Introduction

I'm Jamie Garcia. My parents moved me to south Florida when I was about 9 from New York. A large portion of my family still resides there and I try to visit once a year. My grandfather came to the states from Sicily, Italy. My father's side of the family has origins in Puerto Rico. I've also have ties to Spain and France. Oo la la. 

I'm 1 of 6 children and love each and every one of my siblings. We are incredibly close.

I also have two dogs that I love like children. One is a staffordshire mix (Chloe) and the other a big scary blue nose (Oliver). He'll certainly be sure to lick you to death if you allow. 

My husband and I have officially been married one year as of December 11th. He's my biggest supporter and closest friend. Marriage has truly been one of my greatest blessings. No plans on kids any time in our near future! School, careers and our fur babies are our top priorities. 

I've been in the finance industry for about 10 years now and love what I do. The industry is changing dramatically and I'm looking to moving on eventually. I've considered pursuing a career as a purchasing manager with a n international fashion company. I always think of that quote; "If you do something you love, you'll never work a day in your life". I love how people choose to express themselves. There's much more to this position than that, but I digress. 

My husband and I have also considered starting our own custom fine jewelry store. My husband is an extremely talented jeweler and I'm am consistently surprised by his achievements. I truly believe there are few that can duplicate his creative and (at times obsessive) attention to detail. 

This is my first semester at UF as a junior in the Business program and I'm so very proud to call myself a GATOR. In the long run, I'll be looking to obtain my master's as well.
